We are always trying to keep our beauty game on the natural side so we tied in one of our favorite Herbivore Botanicals products too! Follow along and learn how to do the perfect messy topsy tail braid!

TOOLS NEEDED:

STEP ONE:
Using a hot tool of your choice, put some texture into your hair with waves or curls. The amount of curls/waves you place in your hair will determine how textured the end result, once style is complete, will be.
STEP TWO:
Once you have the amount of texture you would like throughout your hair, using
Herbivore Sea Mist, lightly spray the product.
Scrunch the hair & then break up the curls using your fingers to add in additional texture.
STEP THREE:
Gather the hair around the crown of your head, as though you were going to place your hair into a half up/half down style, and secure loosely with a rubberband, leaving out any fringe pieces you would like to frame your face for the finished look.
STEP FOUR:
Gently slide the rubber band down the ponytail, allowing there to be a space for you to separate the hair above the rubber band. Separate the hair evenly, and flip the ponytail up, directing the hair towards the separated section, and through the space you have created.
Pull the ponytail down to ensure the hair is completely through the space, and tighten the ponytail.
STEP FIVE:
Gather the section of hair from the left side and the right side of the hair that is down and outside of the secured ponytail, and begin to loosely braid the remainder of the hair, incorporating the ponytail into the braid. Secure the braid leaving at at least 2-3 inches of hair unbraided. For shorter hair, and heavily layered hair, you can braid a tighter braid and then pull the hair out using the techniques outlined in step seven.

STEP SIX:
For a more finished look, take a small section of the pony tail, from the underside, and wrap it around the rubberband securing it in the back with a bobby pin.
STEP SEVEN:
Beginning at the bottom of the braid, pull apart the braid. Using your thumb and index finger, tug on the outside edges of each braid, gently loosing the hair to create a fuller and more undone braid.
You can repeat the technique on each section until you have reached the texture you desire. *for shorter hair, and heavily layered hair, you may see a lot of wispy hairs or ends come undone, begin by using smaller tugs on the hair...although we think the messier the better :)
STEP EIGHT:
Finish the look by touching up any of the pieces framing the face, or by pulling out any additional hair you would like to be loose. Lightly spray with
Kenra finishing spray.
